I unfortunately dropped my lovely Cartier ballpoint on the pavement last week and scratched/dented the fine polished (steel) end.
Would anybody have any ideas on how to repair/polish it ?
All suggestions welcome, thank you![]()

Any suggestions or experience regarding repairs ?
You should be able to polish the steel using metal polishing compound, cape cod for example should work. Are you sure that it's polished stainless steel?

Dents are almost impossible to remove from such a small item. You would have to find someone with the right tools and then wait some time to have it done and then spend money. To me, it's like scratching a watch. It was bound to happen, now continue to enjoy it!

Good advice.
Yes I'm quite sure it is in polished steel.
It was the very first time I used it and it was a gift, so I'm still upset I damaged it. I'll probably have send it back to the manfucaturer since it seems complicated to repair.
Thank you to you both for kindly responding.

I think that is a good idea. As you know, polishing to remove scratches means you remove enough metal to make the scratch a lot less noticeable. I can do that. You can do that. But what you want is someone who can do it and make it look like nothing happened. Ask them for work samples and choose the one youo think will do the best job.
Good luck!
