A while back, speedster25 (Tim) came up with a strap design he called the Nautique, inspired by the classic wooden RIVA speedboat. I thought it was a pretty cool design and thought it would look great on either my incoming Magrette Moana Pacific PVD or my Magrette Bronze, or even my PAM111. I wanted to step it up a notch and capture the beauty of the RIVA in a different way, so I started thinking of my own design using Tim's as inspiration.
I photoshopped a design and sent it off to Tim, and he took on the challenge (this is the third custom strap he's done for me, and I can't recommend him highly enough). Tim is a true 'master' of the craft. It was a tough strap to make due to the three color variations, but he came through with flying colors and the strap arrived yesterday. He's named it the Nautique "B" (my initial) and so far it's the only one in existance, with the exception of a duplicate Tim made at the same time for himself.
I will, in time, take some good quality pics of the strap on different watches, but for now I've only mounted it on my PAM111 and took some quick snaps in less than perfect lighting conditions.... anyway, here are some photos of Tim's handiwork.
Here's the RIVA speedboat that inspired the original strap design.
... and here's the original Nautique strap that Tim designed, inspired by the RIVA, that got me thinking about my own design.
... and here is the Nautique "B", made to my specifications
... and finally, here are the straps Tim has done for me so far on a Magrette Moana Pacific Chrono PVD, PAM111, and Magrette Bronze. I think the Nautique "B" will look spectacular on both of these others, as well, once I get around to trying it on.
