    Haveston NATO mini-review

    Hi,

I just received my Haveston NATO a few moments ago. I ordered it after reading about them here last week. It took about 7 days to reach me in Canada. They are based in UK.

This strap is only available in 20mm size so far and in 2 color variants. Mine is called "The Invasion", a striped green/white/black strap not seen anywhere else. Material is thick and heavy duty, but it has a premium feel and very smooth and flexible like other competitors top offerings.

This strap has a floating keeper for perfect adjustment and the watch is centered on the strap, like a RAF type of strap; the hardware is centered under the wrist. You won't need to use the old "tuck"or "foldover" technique here.

Buckle has a premium look with squared and polished edges but the keepers are basic stuff found on cheaper straps. Stitching and heat sealed all around is great, no rough edges to report.

Here is a quick unboxing. It came in a nice paper+string vintage type of package.

After removing the paper, you can see the actual box, similar to an Altoid mint box. They even included a printed thank you note personalized to look like it was made with and old typewriter!
    More unboxing
Test run in a Maratac Mid Pilot and wrist shot.

Killer value for 25$ and I hope they expand their lineup. I paid this fully and it is not a "discount type" of review, just FYI.

    Cheers,

    S.

Thanks for the review and pics. Mine is in the mail. I may have to fold the tail under on my 6.5 wrist, but not sure. What's your wrist size?

    Hi,

    My wrist size is 7.25".

I think it could be folded but the nylon is quite thick, it will probably add some bulk under the wrist.

    Cheers,

    S.

Just ordered one of each. We'll see how they fare against my other "nice" NATOs.

Just got mine. Fantastic strap. Even on my 6.5 wrist, the sliding keeper gives me the option of not folding the tail under, and the way the strap is designed, the tail is located much farther back and doesn't look out of place. And tucking the tail back under works just fine too; not too much thickness at all. A very clever design. Looking forward to more from them.

Thanks for the review and pictures, it is certainly a nice strap color combination and it has a heavy duty appearance and quality that will appreciated by anyone wearing a diver or other heavy watch. I am 98% sure I saw this strap color combination before and 80% sure it was being sold by crownandbuckle a few months ago but I do not see it now on their website. At the time I wanted an 18mm version but it was no longer available so I did not purchase anything from them. The Haveston version looks to have a heavier duty buckle and is nice overall.

Got mine in today. Very pleased with the quality. It compares favorably against my other high quality NATO straps (BluShark, Toxic).

I like the feel of the fabric and the buckle hardware. Fit is nice and doesn't require the strap to be folded back under the keeper. I wish the hardware came in a brushed finish though.

My neighbor gave it to me earlier this week. I think he got it on Amazon for around $20. The quality is so-so, but it does a great job of holding straps. It's the best solution I've found yet.
