    Very cool, thanks for posting this . . . I may give it a go on one of my straps. My only concern is that the colour would come off on my sleeves, etc.

    Thanks and good to know! although not a fan of Nylon thread the fact that is harder to stain could be good for other applications.

    I use olive oil to darken my light tan leather straps. The color deepens a few more shades and, I always know that if I don't like the result, I can always chop up the leather and mix with marinara sauce which will results in a tasty pasta sauce.
