Not sure what this type of strap is called

My wooden watch had a leather strap, unfortunately the strap got damaged and I would need to replace it. It's a non-standard strap as it has the extension at both ends (the piece of letter connecting the watch to the strap is smaller than the full strap).

I have no idea what this type of strap is called.

That's not a standard style of strap, it's proprietary to your watch manufacturer.

You can either contact the manufacturer and see if they will sell you a new one, or there are many skilled custom strap makers who can make one for you if you send them the head of your watch. I suggest checking out Etsy... Should be able to get something done fairly cheaply (less than $50 US)...

    Good luck!

This is called a notched strap. You can either buy a ready made strap or buy a regular strap and cut the notch yourself - it requires a very sharp blade and a steady hand.

I don't think he can buy a ready-made strap. There are no standard sizes for notched straps, they are proprietary to the manufacturer...

The do-it-yourself angle is a good idea. He should use some fabric glue to seal the edges after he makes the cuts...

Try to make sure when looking for a strap that you'll notch, that the stitching is a tad lower down to allow for that cut, some stitching is higher up and a lot closer to the lug area, and that could mean you won't have enough room for the cut without affecting the stitching, bare that in mind when looking.
