Thumbs Up Review of Bradystrap Sailcloth strap with Red Stitching on PVD Hamilton Seaview 1000ft

Just thought I would post my review of my recent purchase of a 24mm Bradystrap Sailcloth strap for my Hamilton Seaview 1000ft.

Firstly, let me thank Todd @ Bradystraps for his excellent customer service. His communication and speed of service ensured a pleasant customer experience through out the transaction and I highly recommend other forum members support Bradystraps.

Now to the review of the strap.

I love the look of this strap. It has a great finish that gives the impression of a much dearer strap. I was swapping out the standard rubber strap on my Hamilton Seaview 1000ft for a strap that would look great with a suit and be comfortable to wear throughout the day.

I have not been much of a fan of the Seaview's rubber strap as I find rubber straps bother me after a while. Plus the rubber strap softens the look of the bezel on the Seaview, which with the right strap like a Nato, looks more rugged. (See this POST from a previous thread I started).

The Sailcloth Bradystrap was EXACTLY what I was after. Straight from the get go, it was exceptionally comfortable. I made sure to immerse it in water that day to mold it to my wrist. However, it was one of the most comfortable straps I have ever worn next to my two Maratac Nato straps. In fact I prefer the comfort of the Bradystrap over my Natos.

The look of the strap on the Seaview is fantastic and I really like the fact that I can swap it out with the quick release bars, should I want to revert back to my black Nato strap.

Overall, I am one very happy customer and can't speak highly enough of these straps.

I really like the looks of these. How do they compare with other straps in terms of comfort?

These are the most comfortable strap I have tried. I can't talk for other brands of strap, other than Maratac Nato and the Divemaster 500 rubber strap, which some members consider to be quite comfortable.

I've got three Bradystraps right now and I really do love them. A good bit of thickness, but just enough that they don't feel flimsy and not so much that they feel bulky. They break in well and hold shape, as well as feeling very durable. When my Sumo comes in, my now orphaned 20mm is going right on it.

Hyp--it looks very good on the Seaview 1000 (which is a great looking watch, by the way). Though I personally would have gone for the white stitch.

I was initially impressed with my Bradystrap. It was comfortable to wear; the pins were very convenient when changing straps; and it looks great. However, literally after wearing it maybe 10 times the finish is beginning to come off (see pics below)?

Also, I do not understand why they are marketed as made from "sailcloth". I was under the impression this strap was made from the same material as a sail. I have a sail boat; have handled many different sails; repaired sails; etc ... I do not know what this strap is made from ... but not something I would sail with. I am undecided if I will get another one at this point --- I guess I have to see how this thing looks after some more use ... but for now I am skeptical.

    rukrem,
Why not contact Bradystraps.com regarding your issue instead of posting here? I'm sure if the company is as good as advertised they will take care of you. I have read nothing but glowing reviews about them so why not give it a try? Let us know how you make out.

To be honest, because, I really do not care! I have a ton of straps and I will continue to wear this one until it disintegrates ... My goal here is not to complain, merely make an observation regarding the material and the durability of the coating. I bought this strap on the recommendations of the many glowing posts regarding this brand. Had I come across a post regarding the material; specifically that the texture was a rubberized coating and not actually made from sailcloth; maybe I would have made a different decision based upon my requirements. I think the buying public should be apprised of all the facts ... not merely sugar coating ...

    No worries, I understand.

I don't think the straps are advertised as real sailcloth though. I am considering one with red stitching and the site states they are "Sailcloth pattern leather".

On another topic, excellent collection of watches you have. How do you like the Triton?
