Squeezing lug bars into BC rubber strap?

Wanted to try some Bonetto Cinturini rubber straps on a couple of my watches but the lug bars are slightly to big. Any sugguestions on how to get the lug bar in the straps easily and hopefully be able to take them out just as easily should I need to? I can probably force them in but worried they would be a nightmare to pull out later on.
