Strapping my Glycine Combat 6 36mm

I recently bought a Glycine Combat 6 36mm which I am pretty happy with. I put it on a Eulit Palma and started thinking about a leather strap for it.

I think the shinier variant of Cordovan in a very simple design would compliment the watch. I've looked all over at custom makers, auction and craft sites, at European and US makers i.e. the nice things at Hodinkee and Worn and Wound. I couldn't settle on a stitched band and I wanted something with finished edges. I considered having something custom made to my own design and played with some ideas:

In the end I wanted to avoid stitching altogether. Unfortunately there seemed to be a consensus among leather-workers that Cordovan doesn't work well in glued construction, so stitching seemed a requirement. I became interested in unstitched calf dress bands such as from Hirsch and Di-Modell. The latter's calf classic seemed promising but I missed the squared-off edge design that most Cordovan bands have.

In the end I found the perfect band, a Kuki-flex Ku-LCf122N, a Horween Cordovan band with no stitching and nicely finished edges (watch-band-center has these, but I can't yet post links). Unfortunately they have a brand struck right in the middle of the most visible part of the leather. I wrote to Kuki to see if they can provide one without brand, but so far no reply, so the search goes on and I am looking for ideas.

Hi Raditya, thanks for the pictures. Calf, I presume? Standard whip-stitch at the watch end it seems although not clear in the pictures.

that right, it's a calfskin leather and whip stitched end. I can change to full stitched end if you want, like this strap,

I lucked into a cheap old stock Hirsch to test the idea of flat with no stitching. I like it but it will be a few days before I have a developed sense of how well it's working. Close up as in the photos it looks too dressy and thin, but at a distance so far it seems okay. Incidentally the Kukis are gone now. If you bought one let's see a picture!
