    Waterproof Bund Strap

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone makes a waterproof bund strap? I'm thinking a NATO strap with a waterproof pad. I've never seen one and wonder if they exist. I think my 18mm Amphibia would look decent on one. I already have it on a leather bund but I'm tired of not being able to get it wet. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

Well shell cordovan works very well in water. Just google Horween shell cordovan straps. They have Nato's and also a bund strap that I had previously owned but just sold it a few days ago.

Most leather can be made water resistant to a point. Oiling and waxing certainly work. Not sure how well waxed leather would hold up to diving especially in salt water. Although there are manufacturers that claim that theirs does. I have seen some nylon velcro straps that kinda have a bund, you could look at some of those. One of the straps I made, which I have worn in situations where I sweat a lot seems to darken a little every time I sweat through it (I mean drenched) but it is not falling apart or anything.

Using Horween as a pad for nylon?
If that is appropriate, then I guess it would also make for good floor liners in the farm truck, and a bathmat at the homeless shelter.

Well it's kinda like putting a one carat diamond ring on a really unattractive woman but people do that...

After looking at the price, I think using Horween on a cheap Russian watch is along the same lines.

I have seen Rolex watches with 12 dollar nylon straps. I think that's even worse than a low price Russian watch with a Horween. It's all about preference.
