I absolutely hated the strap that came with this but loved the face. A lot of people love the original strap so possibly I got the cheaper version of that with this AMW-330. I've no problem with any of my g-shock straps it was this particular Casio band that I thought sucked hard. I ordered a wannabe nato which attached to the pins of my wannabe diver but it still didn't look right. I decided it looked like what it is, a wannabe nato strap. I got this in the mail today and I am finally content. The face caught my eye, bought two straps, and I'll rarely wear it but I also was curious what the nato thing was all about. This was still a cheap trial for what may become an expensive purchase some day. In my opinion the watch looks so much better even though it is yet to be broken in.

Most of watches that look good on NATO's are tool watches and they've traditionally been used with NATO's since WWII, the most famous NATO is the Speedmaster's Pro. So for the Walter Mitty in me the NATO adds a dash of daring do. As of matter of fact on a flight last week the woman seated next to me spied my black and orange striped NATO on my Planet Ocean and asked if I was a Princeton grad, I said "No, but as a matter of fact black and orange were my high school colors." So, score half a point for Mitty. And in this day and age of big watches a strap takes the edge off of size.
Besides, it's good enough for James Bond.

    Let make it clear:

    Pros:
    Durable,
    Water resistant,
safe watch when spring bar broke,
    easy to wash and dry,
    make watch look more tool-ish,
comfort (I even love the extra ring on side of zulu).
absorb your sweat without being smelly,
comes in all color variant you can imagine.,!
    affordable price,
easy to change and install into watches.

    Cons:
maybe look cheap on some expensive lookin watch. :D

There are tons of benefits of switching your original watch band to a NATO. I like the fact that they're really thin and don't get in the way when you're doing computer work. Steel bracelets normally are super thick, and get in the way a lot. Thats also a benefit of the buckle not resting at the bottom of the wrist. They are relatively inexpensive to. Also its fun to switch out a nato strap depending on what clothes you're wearing that day. Its a style thing too i guess. Folding the end of a nato strap back through the rings to me makes a dive watch look more nautical for some reason.

I used to not be into NATO straps. I didn't like how it bumped up the total height. However I now think they are extremely satisfying to wear on occasion. Comfortable, inexpensive, and nearly endless possibilities. Yes they don't work on all watches but, it doesn't get much better than a sweet diver on NATO once in a while

Different people like different things and for sometimes different reasons.

I could list my watches here, but I won't.

All been said. Secure. Inexpensive. Durable. And the ability to quickly change a strap without having to mess with the spring bars.

Sure they have a few drawbacks. So of you dont like them dont wear them
