I am a big fan of rubber straps for diving and sweaty days in general.

However if I am spending big bucks on a watch I would feel cheated if a manufacturer just provided a rubber strap, Panerai get it right and give you a rubber strap with the leather as well.

The rubber strap is a great and lighter alternative to a bracelet for hot summer days.

    Why a rubber watch band?

Although the bracelet reigns supreme on my subs, I like mixing it up on rubber. It also serves to dress them down when I want to tone down thier wrist presence.

Besides the fact leather is not for some like me, I like the extra flexibility when adjusting, the fact that they may outlast a resin strap I have here and there, and the fact that visually they can be a nice undistracting complement to a pretty center timepiece.

It is cheaper than metal bracelet, so, allows to save money. And you would not put a leather strap on diver watch?

A leather strap on a dive watch is like putting 24" spinners on a Humvee.......
