My next Rolex.... your opinions please.

I am going to be making my next Rolex purchase shortly and wanted to get all you wonderful peoples opinion. I own a few subs, a TT Date-just and a vintage Precision. So i was thinking about the Air-king model 114200 it has a blue face with kinda orange Arabic numeral's. The other is the all time classic Explorer I What can i say this watch is an icon. I know the Air-king is 34mm but i don't mind i really like the look of that dial and the band on the new Air-kings. What do you all think.

Sounds like you are leaning towards the AK with the blue dial and orange numerals. Which probably looks awesome. I own the Explorer and agree with you about it being a classic/icon. The Explorer comes in at 36mm vrs the AK 34mm. Probably not even distinguishable size difference on the wrist. So I would say, just go to the AD, get both of the said watches and hold them, try them both on for a real comparison. Purchase the one you don't want to give back.

JMHO, but I like the Explorer much better. It has a classic look to it. The AK to me didn't look "Rolex," it looked cheap. Sorry if I burst your bubble, but that's my opinion of the AK.

i'd also check out the newer 36mm oyster perpetuals - they have some pretty cool concentric dial designs as well.
