Need some help from the saged Rolex collectors

My father in law has a couple of Rolex's. I am not well versed in the models or there worth. The mens watch he bought new in the 80's but he no longer has any of the accessories so its watch only and the woman's he bought second hand about 10 years ago. I can get a local dealer to vouch for the watches and the mens has been serviced regulary although he rarely wears it now since he has a Presidential with diamond marker and bezel that has taken its place. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Only thing I know about them is both are solid 18k gold although the womans model has a aftermarket 14k nugget bracelet.

Re: Need some help from the saged Rolex collectors

If the men's watch had been serviced by Rolex after 2000, it would have a crown with two dots under the symbol like this:

This designates that it has the Twinlock crown system and is 18K Gold.

Before 2000, both Stainless Steel and 18K Yellow Gold watches had a solid bar under the crown symbol, like this:

So I can tell you that the men's watch has not been serviced by Rolex in at least 12 years.

I can't comment on the Ladies' watch.

Last Service was 2003 and it was done by Fischel & Dowdy Jewelers which is where it was purchased they also serviced the ladies watch at that time but like I said in the post its been sitting in his safe for quite a while now. Any idea what they would bring on the pre owned market ?

We do not do valuations. I suggest you look at what comparable watches have sold for on ebay or other used watch sale sites.

Since the watches have never been serviced by Rolex and have no Rolex traceable provenance, you can expect them to sell for less than watches that do have paperwork from Rolex. You will be expected to provide some proof that they are not fakes or frankens.
