I think an increase is forecast for the US around September (give or take a month) -- usually about the time new models will be released domestically.

30% per year? That's ridiculous considering salaries increase like what 5% per year?

Have you considered the falling purchasing power of the USD and the exchange rate to the Swiss Franc?

another reason to stick with vintage. with vintage, one get a true open auction value on a true open market. the ugly, blingy new stuff is always under control of the factory price fixers. for example, the big T store in the high end mall in my city doesn't have a Rolex franchise, because the big B store down the hall opened first. Rolex policy doesn't allow two franchises within five miles of each other. Rolex also won't allow discounting. they don care since they can sell 800,000 watches per year to non-WIS. if the blingsters are willing to pay, so be it. BTW, the Rolex profit margin must be huge, since I'm sure they amortized the production costs long ago.
but, I can't fault capitalism. rant over. :)

Not quite, at Valley Fair in San Jose there's two Rolex AD's within 50 yards of each other and Vegas shoots that
    policy down big time.

And why am I not surprised!?
I don't plan to buy another Rolex, so maybe the four I do have will accrue in value.

And I'm also not surprised that an AD has said that. He gets a commission on every watch he sells, right?
