When I got my first Breitling and first Omega, I was able to negotiate about 15% off price. What about Rolex? Are authorized dealers able to negotiate?

My guess: no. With Rolex, you get the highest level of arrogance and soapbox-standing. I expect negotiation is on Rolex's no-no list.
Really. I would think that some negotiation would be reasonable. I have bought other jewelry costing much more than your average rolex, and there has always been negotiation. My guess: no. Rolex is known to discourage retail price reductions and makes no secret of this fact in its communications to its dealer force. But, that said, what goes on at the point of sale insofar as price is up to the willing seller and willing buyer. See it from the AD's side of the counter...if there is or will be someone else in short order who will pay a listed price soon after you walk away, then what's the incentive to cut the price with you there?
Evidence expressed on this and other forums indicate that the mainstream models like Datejusts and perhaps the all gold models with higher pricetags and such are more likely to be discounted somewhat than sport models in higher demand. You can perhaps skew things in your favor by offering cash right then and there or by buying from an AD where you have a history of purchases. In my local area, I've been at an AD just looking where a buyer stood at the counter trying on a Rolex, asked about a discount and was politely told the store did not discount. This person consumated the purchase anyway. Given Rolex's current indication of thinning the ranks of AD's, at least in the USA, discounts will probably be less forthcoming as time goes on.
If your a major customer, you can get points.
You could probably get up to 10 % in some places but forget it if it is a highly sought after model
What models might I be able to get 10% off on?
How about a basic stainless steel Datejust?
How about a Milgauss?
Last year I bought a Mlgauss and GMT for me, and an OP for my wife. All between 22% and 23% off. It takes some negotiating, but can be done.
Between 22% and 23% at ADs on three in the past 13 months. Milgauss, GMTc, and an OP for my wife. Takes some negotiating but can be done.
