I am thinking about buying a rolex datejust (most likely pre-owned). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of where i should look for one? Thanks.

check out watchfinder at either the dundas square or eglington locations. they are fantastic!

Watch finder has a pretty good reputation. They have a very small location in Dundas Square, but (unless they've recently relocated) their main location is in Yorkville, not Eglinton.
There is also Van Rijk at Yonge and Eglinton. They were pretty nice to me, but others have had some rude experiences. Prices were high too.
If you decide to go new, then try Damiani in Vaughan. I have purchased from both Royal de Versailles downtown, and Damiani, and found the latter to be much better to deal with.
In terms of used/pre-loved Rolex, Van Rijk, Watchfinder (three locations, Eglinton, Yorkville and Downtown), come immediately to mind, though I find them overpriced typically. That said, Brent (Watchfinder downtown) is a good guy, willing to negotiate. Most of the Rolex, however, are to be found at their Yorkville location (Sean). Both nice guys, but these stores are located in high rent locations. There is, however, wiggle room. Other places to consider, are Watchestobuy dot com (Derek is a stand up guy, located out in London and supplies watches to film and TV industry; knows his stuff, and dealt with him over the years--very reputable). He deals mainly in vintage, but frequently has newer, modern Rolex on offer from time to time as well. In terms of vintage, might also check out Yorktime and Trebor's Vintage (again, mainly vintage dealers but sometimes have newer/pre-loved Rolex on offer, worth a look), located in Unionvillle, ON and Kirkland, PQ, respectively. If you're looking for new, I second Damiani. Hope this helps.
Cheers

x2 on Van Rijk.
I was just there the other day. Lots and lots of pre-owned AND vintage. IIRC about 3 1/2 display cases to drool over.
FYI 2 door security and a security guard inside.
they actually have both a yorkville and eglington location. i wasn't aware that the dundas sq location relocated. any idea where it's going to end up?
Best Regards,

PS: i tend to stay away from van rijk only because i find that the quality of their wares are inferior to watchfinder, and often at higher prices. the only pro of van rijk is that they have a VERY large selection over a large span of vintages.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I will check out watchfinder and see for myself.
Any suggestions of what to look for when buying a used rolex?
Go to Watch Finder on Cumberland St.
Ask for Sean. He's a great guy! Good staff, lots of watches! Always pop in there, every time I come to Toronto!
