WOW - 14% Increase on Deepsea price in UK

Hi - I havent posted for a long while, although I have been reading.

I bought my Deepsea 3.5 yrs ago and since then i've not really thought much about watches - for me, its almost perfect n cooled my watch addiction.
Only new watches I like the look of are the new Explorer II or the new Omega PO chrono

I learnt this week that Rolex prices UK have gone up and the DSSD has risen a massive 14% and is now £8050!!!!
Dont know whether to sell mine cos I feel kinda weird having an 8k watch on my wrist (it felt excessive when it was 5k)- or buy another still at the old price £7070 in my local AD.

Can anyone explain why the DSSD price went up double the percentage some other Rolexes went up?
Had its price been kept artificially low against unit manufacture costs or is demand now kicking in and driving up prices or??????

Bought mine in a Dublin AD 2 weeks ago and got a V.Good discount into the bargin, as it happens i was on Oxford st in London During the week, there were no DSSD's to be seen in any AD's Including Selfridges. Prices in the US had gone up but did'nt think they were going up in Europe so much.

i'm still trying to make sense how Rolex justifies the price increases... i was looking at an AD for an explorer I from 1965, and it quoted a price of $165 dollars, which meant like clockwork (no pun intended) they raised prices at 8.13% yearly for that model, which makes zero sense. a ford mustang at the same rate would go for $93k base... would any of you pay $93k for a base mustang?

I think they do an excellent job of keeping their prices in sync with market price AKA what people are willing to pay.

Increase after increase, we keep seeing jubilant "look what the AD got in," "latest purchase" of these newly more expensive models. People are willing to pay, so they are happy to charge it. I guess for people who don't really get into the horology behind their watch it makes for exclusivity. For people like us, it's a shame.

Memphis -- It is crazy, for us consumers, but as long as there is a base who keep purchasing and supporting the price, the price will keep rising.

I doubt the DSSD is a very good seller. Looks like they're applying the same formula they applied to the daytona years ago and restructuring the hierarcy via prices. Making the daytona the most expensive model appeared to do wonders for it's desireability. Some hope that the price increase allows for Rolex to introduce a new model between the subc and dssd and are dreaming of a new 4000 seadweller. However there is probably more chance of seeing a
