AFAIK there haven't been reports of fake Krinks, yet.
Your best bet would be to compare the seller's pictures with pictures of the real deal. There are loads of real pics on the G-Shock forums. If the seller is using a stock photo or no photo you should ask for pictures of the actual watch for sale. The lack of box and papers is a definite minus for most people though. After all, what's a limited edition without the nifty packaging that comes with it?
As far as faking "high end" or more expensive models only, not really true. I've also seen fake GA-100's, GA-110's, G-9000 Mudmans, Risemans, GX-56's, 7900's and even Baby-G BG-5600's (to name a few) in and amongst the fake BAPEs and Frogmen.
