    Ambit bezel->GPS pod gap

    Probably just paranoia kicking in, but I'm wondering if you guys also have a small gap between the aluminum bezel and the GPS unit. I've taken a screen shot of the official ambit video from Suunto's youtube channel to show you guys what I mean:

    It is most noticeable if you hold the watch like in the picture and with a light backdrop. Probably the way it is designed, but I'm wondering if this could be a spot for dust, grease, water etc. to creep into the watch

    I just looked at mine, no gap at all.

    I have a very slight one. I cant slide a thin piece of paper. Its so small I have to hold it up to the light to barely see it.

    It's not really big on mine either. I can slide in a really thin paper receipt, but not a regular piece of paper. Nevertheless it's definitely not as tightly sealed in the GPS pod area compared to the rest of the watch.

    Well, seeing you got your example photo from the Suunto official video, I suspect there is not a problem, and yes, the paranoia is kicking in

    May I suggest the following test: Fill a tall glass with beer, drop the Ambit in, then drink the beer. Check to see if the Ambit is still working.
    The taller the glass, the better and more meaningful the test.

    I think this quickly help to resolve any concerns.

    Just don't press any buttons when it is submerged.

    Looks normal to me!

    The top part of the bezel is a separate aluminium bezel ring and the GPS tongue is part of the plastic case underneath. So there should be a tiny gap. Anything else would be against the law of physics!
