Ambit Case cracked?

I was cleaning my Ambit after an exercise and noticethere are 2 cracked like lines running straight from the bezel to the base at the 11 o’clock and 1 o’clock face position. As I was cleaning I felt like there was something protruding out and on closer inspection seem like these are cracks. Is this a manufacturing defect ? I have already written to Suunto and are awaiting reply from them.
In the mean time, appreciate your assistance in this matter by checking your Ambits, if this is normal. Thanks.

Oh dear, the faults of the Ambits are starting to stack up. Will check mine tonight.

It's not a fault, it's a byproduct of the molding process. You can also see a small line on either side of where the antenna protrusion starts. These lines are visible on all Ambits.

Yep, mine has them as well... Have to look real hard though....

It's called a weld/ flow line. It can be reduced by increasing the temp of the mould, the temp of the injected plastic, increasing speed of injection or increasing the packing pressure. Doing any of those things can lead to gas/ burn marks to the plastic though and variation in physical size. Plastic moulding is an exact science. I'd say that due to the shape and size of the part, it'd be a difficult part to mould. I used to be an injection mould technician in a previous life lol.

Confirming my Ambit has molding lines as well, not cracks

Also the Suunto Cores have these molding lines, 2 on each side. Perfectly normal!
