Is it the first and only so far?
...Just wondering if I've missed one out there somewhere.
(I mean with electronic compass (not GPS))
(and barometric pressure, not just baro altitude)

The Garmin 910XT has most of it...

I tried a 910XT for a week or two. The GPS is fine but the altimeter is horrible. The only way to calibrate is to set GPS coordinates for a known location. It is not convenient when you travel. Plus the altitude was supposed to be recognized when within 50m of the known set location and I found it to work occasionally. With large elevation changes the watch was ok but not great and with small elevation changes that added to large gains/losses it was very poor and overestimated substantially.
I returned it when the Ambit was announced.
Interesting to hear. I'd been looking for a new GPS watch for a long time (hike run climb). Thought the 910 would be the closest I'd get, waited the long time after the announcement and then for a review or two, and was this --->| |<--- close when the Ambit was announced.
Sounds like Suunto timed their announcement just right to get my $$$. And get me a watch much closer to what I want. ABCGHR. Just no McCafe.
