    Ambit - Pausing a Move

Ok, maybe I've missed it but I can't figure out why Stop/Pause functions the way that it does.

I't seems to me the only thing it does is to introduce an unintended lap into the recorded move. Stop does not Stop the clock. When I hit Stop I want it to stop taking data and Wait until I restart. I don't want the time between the button presses to be included in my move. I would think this would be the primary reason why you would hit the Stop/Pause button. If I wanted a lap I'd hit the Lap button. If I wanted the data and time included I'd leave it alone.

This has me puzzled. Why have a Stop that doesn't Stop?

It wouldn't be so bad if Movescount would report a Moving Average that did not include my 'paused' time but it doesn't.

I also find it humorous that those Paused laps all show a Max Speed?!?!?

Again, maybe I've missed the point and if so maybe someone can enlighten me.

I believe Suunto has acknowledged that this behavior is unintended and will be corrected.

    Yes Ambit.

I just realized I had left that important bit of information off the post. I have rectified that by renaming the title.

Where did you get the information that Suunto knows and is correcting this issue?

    Thanks!!

Funny... I had edited my post because I thought I overlooked "Ambit" in the title. Anyway, I don't remember where I read that. Give me a bit to dig around to see if I can find it again.

I sent them the email and yes, they responded. I cn't believe it wasn't fixed in 1.5. It is a basic flaw. Interestingly if you import the data into another application it excludes the "paused" time so it may well be a Movescount problem

I noticed this as well, I think this is not a bug. If you pause a move, a lap has been created. If you wanna stop the move it's recorded and it exits. In this respect stopping and pausing are different.

Well, you are probably the only one who thinks not (and that includes Suunto).
