    Ambit Review

Many thanks to Rob at Highly Tuned Athletes for access to this review.

Great job on the review of this demo model.

    SEE THE REVIEW HERE

    HERE IS THE PDF LINK.

Rob reminded me that they are ONLY sellers in Australia. So please do not try to purchase unless vegemite is routinely in your diet. :)

Thanks for the info and link Rob.

    Enjoy!

Awesome review the only thing I do hope Suunto does is update the Time/Date to Atmoic time/date. It would make sense only to do that on an expensive GPS watch.

    Re: Ambit Review

Considering Suunto is not releasing the Ambit even just for testers/reviewers outside its group of pro-bloggers/beta-testers yet, I feel that it's jumping the gun a bit - but it's certainly nice to get some feedback at the very least on look and feel, and some initial use.

The Suunto Ambit e-book someone has released on Amazon... now *that* is something to object against (it's just a scam, nothing like the (p)review given in this review.)

I think you'll get people knocking in your doors waiting for parts 2 and 3 before the watch is fully ready for that, but, well... I'm looking forward to them, too, whether I get an Ambit for review myself or not ;)

If this was true then I am not sure why I got one then as I dont fit in to those categories! Why is it jumping the gun a bit ?

Regarding Parts 2 and 3; These are going to be very very tricky reviews that will take some time. Here in Australia the MotoActv isn't even released as yet, all we have is a Nth American unit at the moment. The comparison between these sport watches will require a timely effort. After sitting 3 metres away from the reviewer for 40 hours a week for the past 2 years, believe me I know it will be fastidious and tirelessly detailed. Plus he has other work to get on with for now, so it will be a month or so before it is even started (knock as much as you like it wont be rushed). Lastly Part 2 can and will only be started when we have a finished saleable product. If for no other reason but the fact that the unit we have has to go back to Suunto in the next few days.

Thanks for that clarification that Parts #2 and #3 will be started only with a final product. (I too was wondering about how representative it would be, and honestly a bit concerned by some of missing functionality you stated)

I think Part 1 was very helpful about the look and feel and construction.
I'm certainly looking forward to the next reports, kind of like a salivating dog. (I know, that's sad on many levels)

And send out the call for Gu and Caffeine if you need some more fuel for the reviewers!!!

Reviewer has been placed on Caffeine diet and chained to his desk in an effort to get Part 2 of review written, as we now have final consumer stock shipping as of today. Reviewer unfortunately must be set free every now and then on day release to go for a run !

Have you noticed many/ if any changes from the model you had to the final release model?
