Best place for bands and seal?

I have a well abused Suunto Observer that came with the stainless (?) band?
Anyways, 250,000 air miles and five continents later it's beat to death and the one side of the band has gone missing! Also the last time someone changed the battery I don't think they put the seal in right to keep the thing waterproof.

Where would you recommend I get a band and possibly the inner seal?

I have always had good luck at my local REI.

I know they have the battery hatch seal and battery ... LOOK HERE

As for the bracelet... I would just try googling... Or go to Suunto directly!

Its really good to hear your Observer has had such a rugged life! Thats cool!

HERE is the Suunto page... Pretty expensive for the strap... but I bet you could find one cheaper elsewhere.

Same price HERE so maybe the price is set...

Never been there or seen it, but I hear MEC is the Canadian version of our REI??

I would suspect that they would carry them. Most authorized retailers of Suunto stuff have, or can get, accessories.

Ok I don't know if I have a TT or a ST now, any ideas on how to tell? I would look at the watch but not really sure where it is (tomorrow's project to dig it out)

I bought it at REI and walked right pass it last night, didn't think they would have bands in the store. Wonder if they do?

    RKD,
The last time I went into MEC in Calgary (about a week ago) - they only had the CORE watches. No straps or accessories; at least not yet.

How about some Observer pics? I have one and I love it. It still looks new as I do not wear it as much.

Thanks for the update. I hate how there are only like 3 or 4 MEC's in the entire country. I have to go into downtown Toronto to get to the closest MEC. It's a pain in the ass and as for local dealers LMAO...needless to say are clueless. The closest Suunto licensed representative (closest to me) is about a 30 minute drive to their shop. Furthermore, they would not quote me or my wife (at separate times) better than $499(CND) for the Core. We both tried unsuccessfully to explain to them there are different models within the line-up but that the features are exactly the same (within reason, bezels). Lastly, we got nowhere with them and had to go further out of the region to get one from a retailer that had a clue. Even then, they didn't know what it was until they ordered mine in directly from Suunto.

I choose the light green and black, not based on price but asthetics and the obvious fact that there was clearly an issue with the orange/black displays from day one! Funny that if you look closely enough on the Suunto website in the respective 'gallery' of pictures for the orange/black model...in one of the photos it is clear that you CAN NOT see the display. Almost as if Suunto is admitting, for all to see/not see, their design fault.

I mean it was obvious to me before reading all the posts and reviews. In fact I think it was that very specific issue (seeing it on Suunto's official website) that turned me away from that display initially!
