Is the Core not for me?...or have I had lemons?

I'm on my fourth black/orange Core. They have all gone and done weird things. I purchased it at REI, so thankfully I've had good customer service...but I'm starting to wonder if it just isn't meant to be for me. I've had Advizor's, Vector's, an Observer...all with no troubles. But with the Cores it's been quick dying batteries (multiple batteries per unit) and random re-sets on each one I've had. Have I just had poor luck? I use the daily alarm about 5-6 days per week and I use a few logbooks per week, but I don't have any button tones or storm alarm activated. My fourth Core just died again this morning and I'm going to take it back...question is, do I get another one or just call it quits.

I know lots of you are having good luck w/ your Core. What functions are you using and how often. I guess I'm wondering if I'm using certain features a lot more often than everyone else that is having no issues.

    Altimeter: (2-4 hours, 4-6 times a week)

    Light: 10-15 times a week??

Compass: 1-2 times a week. for about 45 minutes to an hour max.

Oh, and it usually stays in auto mode.

Thanks Jeff. It seems like I am using it similarly to you....minus the compass. I don't think it's a matter of over use. Maybe I've just been unlucky four times.

BTW, my logs just disappeared this morning. Weird.

Could it be environmental?? Once when I was in college I was working in the NMR lab and the NMR spectrophotometer caused my watch to run backwards and lose time...

I know it sounds random, but It actually happened and you might want to try to rule out environmental issues..

Could be, or bad luck LOL...

All I have had with mine is one button that is occasionally sticky.

As far as I know the compass feature is very energy demanding. 45 minutes every week is very much... try to activate the compass only a few seconds every time you use it. This could help.
