Cotswold Outdoor in Birmingham, Core Black Orange pin problem?

I went in with a friend who was interested in getting a Core Black Orange and we spoke to a really nice sales guy who knew his stuff when it came to Suunto! I think he said he owned four of them.

Anyway, we were chatting away about the Black Orange and he said that there were problems with the pins on the straps breaking, and people having to buy replacement straps - not cheap if you're just after a pin. I've never heard of this problem before. Has anyone here?

I didn't catch the guy's name, but I did tell him to check out WUS and the Suunto forum.

    Ive never heard of this.

The only strap I have heard of issues with is the "metal" observer strap.
    Suunto... Replacing Luck!
