What's up fellow watchers !!
2 days ago, I received my AMBIT ! charged it for 2-3 hours before even trying in on my wrist. Viewed from the top, it's ok, but I find it very thick ! I'll have to get used to it, it's my first (manly) watch :P (I have had a classic sporty timex when i was a kid and a cell phone ever since)
Only yesterday have I had the time to do a test run with the GPS fix every 1sec. (will post pics and screenshots later, at work now)
the path is pretty accurate with some minor deviations (I was running at a pretty fast pace 4:30 min/km or 7:12 min/mi). I know some of you have trouble with walking speed. Will have to check this out by myself.
The watch menus are easy to access. The hardest thing I had to do was to FIND my magnetic declination on the internet (not input it in the watch) :)
I also went swimming with it yesterday evening. I know, and I haven't pushed the button underwater. What I would do was press the lap/split button every 100m to track my distance. The watch was naturaly wet but not submerged when I pressed the button. Then, at the end, I dried the watch and went home. At home, I noticed all the buttons made a "wet succion" sound and let tiny drops of water out when pressed. Is it normal after a swimming session ? This morning, everything is fine, but I don't want to compromise the watch, I want to swim 1-2 times a week. Maybe I should use a cheaper watch for swimming ? or am I paranoid ? I think at 525 $ watch should be fine for swimming.
NOTE about GPS : I'm at work now and my desk is right beside a window. And I couldn't get a GPS fix. The sky is covered with clouds. Will retry to get a fix outside at lunch.

is that an oversight or marketing decision?
