How is this for a easy to read simple stop watch on the Ambit....

This is one of my simple time profiles I made on Movescout.

I use it all the time. Just a big ol stop watch with the time above it.

I think that type of use may be beauty behind the Ambit design. I was thinking the same thing for a simple HR display.

It's good, as watches go the ambit is a significant product for Suunto and in my opinion, if they develop it correctly has the ability to beat most, if not all of the competitors. However, to me the stopwatch is one on ot the current weak points; i canot get it to display 1/10 sec (might just be me ). Currently it only shows 1sec intervals which when you are a lousy runner every 1/10sec counts when you are trying to measure an improvement!

So you can program the watch to display things how you want them via movescount?

Well to a point, for one program you can have something like 10 screens, you can choose it to display just one item, 3 items, a graph etc.

I didn't think about the 1/10 of a second thing though.

Yes,...think of the "exercise logs" as a way of adding multiple separate watches and each watch is designed by you with up to 8 separate screens per each watch. Each of the 8 screens will display 3 separate features. So if you do the math, you will have endless combinations.

Have to admit, I'm waiting for the first person to complain that they *can't* get some display. Well, let me start: What, I can't see (peak) training effect in a graph? Only HR or altitude? Whaaaahhhh

Right now, exercises also get saved automatically as you stop 'em, don't they? Meaning if you must use your Ambit as egg-timer, that would become one of your "Moves"...

No, it asks at the end of the timing if you would like to save it or not. If you select not to save, it does not come up as a Move on Movescout.

It depends on the buttons used. If you use stop/start to finish it will be saved automatically. If you use back/lap it gives you the option to not save.
