How to set Alarm for HR Zone of Ambit?

I have set the Low & High HR Limits of my Ambit on Movescount.
However, during exercise, there is no audible alarm or beep on the Ambit to alert me when my actual HR is below or has exceeded the limits.
I note a tiny arrow appearing next to the HR indicator, & pointing up when my actual HR is less than the low limit, & pointing down when my HR is exceed the upper limit.
But I cannot be looking at the watch all the time while running.

Is there an option to select Alarm for the HR Limits? I can’t find it in the Manual or in Movescount.

Not that I am aware of. I've never seen any claim there was a HR alarm either. The high and low HR in movescount are used for the exercise range displays in movescount. (And I suspect also in the recovery time calculation on the watch.)

    The alarm does exist.

In the advanced menu , u set high n low.

During ur workout when u reach ur lower value there is a chime , but it dosent come when I fall below my low value and come again.

But it does beep when u enter the range.

Alert tones? Where do you see this on Ambit? Or on movescount? I've not found it?

I have never heard the beep, but thats not very useful if it only notify me that I have reached Low target HR. It needs to Alert me if I go below or above my targetted HR zones.

I set my High limit at 90% of my max HR. After several exercises & syncing to Movescount, I noted that I have exceeded my High limit several times. This is dangerous!

My old Timex GPS Global Trainer is able to emit Alarm for HR zones.

I confirm that it does beep reaching your zone , but not when u fall below or rise again.

Hmm, thanks for the tips. I always thought min HR was for resting HR, and max was for highest HR, so that movescount could show you zones. It's interesting to see people setting them tighter for a target zone during exercising.

Your Max HR depends on your age. Theoretically, (though its debatable) for men, its 220 minus the age. I don't remember the formula for women but its different.

So, if a male is 30 years old, his Max HR is 220-30 = 190 bpm (beats per min).

Depending on what you want to achieve, you set your Low & High target HR zone as a % of your Max HR. The guideline is shown in the table below.

Based on your inputted height & weight, and recorded HR, duration, etc. of the exercise, Suunto claims that Movescount is be able to calculate, among other things, calories burned, peak training effect, recovery period, etc.

That doesn't help much . That definitely needs to be fixed in firmware.
