Please help w/ Core purchase

I have the opportunity to purchase a 3rd core at a great price.. I can choose bet/w two watches. Which to get??

1. Serial: 0296xxxx
2. Serial: 0096xxxx

If I understand correctly the first number is the year of manufacture... so #2 would be 2009, right? Is #1 2011 (2+9?)

My understanding is the first digit is the year of manufacture, so in your case both are 2010. The next two digits are the week of manufacture (starting from 1 as in 1st week in jan) in that year..... so for the first listed its the 29th week in 2010 and for your second watch the 9th week in 2010. So the first watch is the "newer" of the two. I'm pretty sure that is how it works, however I am happy to stand corrrected. If you troll through this site you will find an explanation of the serial number format.
