    Suunto Core compass problem

I have a Suunto Core new black stealth model. the problem I have had is the compass seems to be off about 50 degrees when rotating to the North position while everything else is right on. I have recalabrated the watch and after about a week it does the same thing. Has anyone else had this problem or is it a setting problem? can anyone help with this problem?

Haven't had that problem. Did you calibrate it inside or outside? Sometimes inside you get a bad calibration depending on the metal in the building.

I have not heard that one.

You may want to "reboot" by performing the steps to adjust your contrast. When you leave the set up mode you will be forced to re calibrate the compass.

You should HAVE to do this, but it may help you get a fresh reading.

Also, I agree with Mike... be sure you are not near any EM fields including power lines or supply lines. Also, be sure to be away from large metal objects.

Could also be the battery that has become magnetized. If so one must remove the battery and demagnetize it and put it back in again after 30 seconds...

Actually, in addition to the metal of the building, the electrical equipment that we all have in our homes, will affect the calibration process.
I have gotten different calibration results inside and outside with my Vector, but I have not tried this yet with my Core.
