    Suunto Movescount website, info needed

    Hi All.
I was contemplating getting the Suunto Ambit, but was hoping someone can answer a few questions regarding their Movecount site and also format the data from Suunto's watches are in (if can be exported)

I've been using fairly heavily my iPhone with Endomondo app.
If I go to a Suunto, I;d like to export all my data out of Endomondo into Movescount, but alas the only option is to export into TCX or GPX file, which looks like Movescount doesn't work with.
I'd tried using http://www.gpsvisualizer.com. This kind of worked, I could then import my route, but no data, eg split times per KM, average speed, top speed etc.

Can anyone offer help with this?

Also since most my friends and workmates use Endomondo, is there a way a can also export the information out into Endomondo, which only accepts GPX files.

If this is a limiting factor I may have to look into Garmins as they are supported natively by Endomondo.

    Cheers

I don't believe there's any way to import data into movescount other than routes (i.e. no training data as you've discovered).

With regards to exporting from movescount, you can currently export ambit logs as xls format files, but according to Suunto, we'll be able to export to kml/gpx format "this spring". In the meantime, I am using a windows app called Neotrack to convert to gpx so I can import my ambit logs to another website I have all my historical training on. If you're on a mac, I believe rubytrack will let you do the same.

    Great thanks for that info.

At least there's an option to keep the data in one spot (Endomondo for me) will check out Neotrack

Ok, I made a test run on the Movescount site and added data in. Able to export as xlsx, but Neotrack import doesn't have an option to import xls or xlsx. I tried anyone but it showed no data.

Could you tell me how your doing this?

    Cheers

Do it from the file on the ambit, not from movescount, i.e. when you plug your ambit in, it will sync an xml file to the c:\users\<your name>\appdata\roaming\suunto\moveslink2\ folder. Import that file into Neotrack and you should then be able to export to a gpx file.

I have a question about Neotrack. Will Neotrack export a tcx file with the workout data linked to the map data?

Movescount just put an update on Facebook & Twitter that the new export option is coming today:

    "A quick update coming today.
Incl. small Ambit improvements+exporting track/route in KML format. We'll be offline for an hour."

I have a bad feeling this update will only allow exporting of a route and not the entire log (timestamps, hr data etc). Hope I'm wrong. They had previously indicated gpx as well as kml format also.

    THanks.
Still KML for me at least is not helpful.
The app I use (Endomondo) only allows these formats: to import or export
    gpx, .tcx and .fit

Be interested to see the outcome of todays update.

    Interresting topic Striff.

Thanks, i've also got my eyes on the Ambit as a replacement for my Garmin 405. All my friends are on Endomondo, so it's vital for me to be able to export All data from a workout (or other activity) to Endo.

Fingers crossed from here, for an Suunto Update that allows us to do a proper export to a supported format.

    Regards
    Kenni
