Hi & welcome to the forum.

There's no correct answer to your question. You should get whichever appeals to you the most. Any issues were with early models and have been resolved with current production.

Welcome... I have a yellow and black Core and I think THAT one is the best! LOL... But honestly, it IS whichever appeals to you.

I like mine because its light and works great for cycling (my primary sport). But if you do a lot of low light activities you may like one with a positive display better.

+ display = functional and "plain"
    - display = sexy and do-able
    Suunto... Replacing Luck!

The functions between the Cores are the same. The differences are the case designs, displays, and straps.

For cases, there are ones made from aluminum which are a bit more expensive, while the cheaper ones are resin/plastic. The bezels also come with different designs.

For displays, like Jeff mentioned, it comes down to look vs practicality. The negative displays look really nice, but are harder to see in lower light conditions. The positive is much easier to see at a glance.

For straps, the more expensive Cores come with leather while cheaper ones come with various rubber straps. If you like using your own straps (I have mine on thick leather), look for models with lugs, or you can buy a separate strap with lugs.

    Hope that helps.
