    Storm Chaser Pro arrived today...

From experience they do require more than a couple of turns.

    I just tested these watches
TH Carrera (V7750) 12 complete turns.
MIDO Multifort (V7750) 7 complete turns
TH Monaco (Sellita 300) 6 complete turns
Rolex Datejust (3135) 11 complete turns

All this watches haven't been used in over 3-6 weeks

I always give my watches 30-35 turns, before I use them

As an example, on my Cleveland Express Power Reserve, I could see (no longer own it) easily whether it was good to go or not, by looking at the power reserve--using the method that I use (each person is different--my wind is like a 1/4 to 1/2 of a full revolution) it took 75 winds to fully power up (other folks wind as little 20 times, to as much as 40). So, are you saying after you have wound it sufficiently and correctly, that it isn't running, at all, or that the seconds hand only doesn't move, or what? In order for your thread to be of any value, you actually should describe the problem fully, rather than just saying it arrived DOA.
Timefleas thank you for your input. As you can see I’ve been a long time member of these forums and many of you have contributed to my watch purchasing delinquency.
I have acquired a lot of watches over the years. I am over 40 and growing. This includes a recent purchase of a Raymond Weil chrono with a 7730 movement.
I cannot remember any auto being delivered by mail that was not running at the time of delivery. The jostling around during shipment tends to keep them moving.
The Raymond Weil, for example, was running just fine when it arrived. It has been sitting on my dresser for a few days and lost its power reserves. All it took to get the 2nd hand indicies going again was a few gentle shakes to engage the rotor. This should be the case with almost any auto.
In the case of this watch, nothing that I did could get the movement working. Ball responded quickly today with an email asking me to wind the watch 30-40 turns. To appease them I did. Of course no movement from the movement.
So yes, the movement was non functioning when it arrived.
I emailed Ball back and let them know that winding did nothing. So I anticipate they will make things right. My Ball watches are some of my favorites in my collection. Just disappointed in the poor crown guard design of my Mad Cow and the need to send it in for repairs.
This problem is just frustrating. As long as they resolve the issue in a timely fashion without any further cost to me, I’m all good.
or......maybe the battery went bad and needs to be replaced

Ball watch wants it sent to ball USA. They requested that I contact them. Hopefully Ball will do the right thing and issue a call tag for shipping.
This is going to take months to resolve. Hopefully not at my expense.

An automatic should be running out of the box because it has been "wound" by the movement in the box in transit usually, unless the crown is pulled out and it hacks. Hand winding is a secondary feature to an automatic. I have a bucket of auto's, swiss and asian they all came ticking away. I could be off on this, just my experience. IMHO
