Not going to hold judgment. Who knows how the package was handled in transit. Iím sure they get tossed around since they are so small. Canít rule out problems with it being exposed to magnetization also.
My only concern is Ball making things right so I donít incur additional costs.

opened the box and second hand indicies was not moving. Since itís an auto it should be running. Crown was locked in place. Tried chrono function...nothing. Tried a few winds of the crown...nothing. Reset the time ahead to next day/date and a few more winds...nothing. Rotor is turning fine. Engine is dead.

Maybe the watch is on storage for too long ? I'm sure the company will make things right. Anyway, congrats on your winning bid.

I'm not quite sure I understand--as an automatic, it SHOULDN'T be running, not until you wind it, not a "few winds" but wind it as if it hasn't been running, which it hasn't--but you own a few automatics, so I assume you know that--so, did you actually fully wind it? As an example, on my Cleveland Express Power Reserve, I could see (no longer own it) easily whether it was good to go or not, by looking at the power reserve--using the method that I use (each person is different--my wind is like a 1/4 to 1/2 of a full revolution) it took 75 winds to fully power up (other folks wind as little 20 times, to as much as 40). So, are you saying after you have wound it sufficiently and correctly, that it isn't running, at all, or that the seconds hand only doesn't move, or what? In order for your thread to be of any value, you actually should describe the problem fully, rather than just saying it arrived DOA.

I can't speak for the movement used by the Storm Chaser (7750?) but all my watches with ETA movements start running after 2 or 3 crown turns.
