How to remove pins from rubber strap

Hi, I received a new Yellow faced Sinn U1 today and am trying to adjust the strap, but removing the pins embedded in the strap seems nearly impossible. Does anyone have some advice they can offer?

Pliers and tenacity. Seriously, I had the same question. Also, sounds kinda gross, but spit on 'em & work the strap until the pin gets a bit looser. It's still tough. Hopefully someone has a better suggestion, but that's what I had to do.

dunk the strap in some warm water, that'll help.

Wet it as suggested above, then push one end with a toothpick until enough shows through the other side to pull out with a pair of needle nose pliers.
