Sinn 142ST (Black Case) case w/Lemania 5100....I need some motivation...Help me out.

I'm really starting to get the itch for a Sinn 142ST with the Lemania 5100 movement. I need a little motivation to get me over the hump. I would be interested in any images of the watch to wet my appitite and any thoughts or opinions on the watch, good or bad.

The black model S (schwarz) was pretty cool, they were made way before the pvd craze of today. It was a galvanized finish according to Sinn. I had an early 140 that was black with worn areas of black where it rubbed against skin and the early bracelet.
They are nice, good luck finding one, they're a bit rare today.

This site has some photos and click on the red button under the watch for more info.

I completely agree, it is a very cool watch but the black coating needs to be treated with care.

I wear mine only on special occasions as it is difficult to remove silver-couloured blemishes short of having the case completely galvanized again.
You also have to expect that the coating on the edges eventually wears off and the silver-coloured base metal will start to shine through.

Even today's black tegimented Sinns need to be treated with a little more care than their silver-metallic tegimented cousins.

A black 142 may be the perfect watch if you own a collection and plan on wearing this 142 on special occasions only, but if you are looking for a watch to wear day-in and day-out I would pick a standard 142.
