    Sinn 156 bezel

    Hi

I've recently aquired a 156. Nice, but a few scratches on the bezel edges that detract from the watch slightly. I've ordered a new bezel from Chronomaster. Does anyone know how easy it is to fit the bezel? I'm happy to give it to a jeweller or specialist, but I'm not sending the watch to Sinn (the last watch that I sent was stolen in the post).

The second thing. Straps. It has the bund strap which is nice but too big. I tried to order the metal bracelet from Chronomaster but apparently Sinn dont stock them anymore. Anyone have any suggestions of straps that might work with the 156? I did want the metal bracelet really.

    Thanks David

David, The bezel is very easy to be removed just stick the fine thin knife underneath it and slowly pop it out. Don't listen to my DIY. Someone with better knowledge in watchmaking may have better idea which is proper procedure. It always work for me

Putting it back you have to make sure the wire is fitted in the track (see the picture below at 12 position), then snap it right back in.

The 156 bezel is on the right...

Cut the bracelet! It looks better with the straps.

Thanks! Much appreciated. I look forward to receiving the bezel and having some fun with a knife then....

Not sure about straps. I really like bracelets. For now I'll keep it on the bund strap.

It's a cool watch. I've got an EZM 3 too, but that now feels small in comparison. The bund strap makes the 156 even bigger. But this is weird, it's the big watch syndrome, I started small (Explorer 1) and the watches are getting bigger and bigger over time! I'll have a U1 before long.

    Cheers and thanks David

    David,
Here are couple of examples of straps.

    Original Sinn Strap.

BROS, Dakota in dark brown. (I really like this combination )

And here are some pictures of Heuer Bund the ancester of 156 on strap. They are very close in size so you can use them as your reference..

    On Di-Modell, Chronissimo

On a BROS, brown calf skin

I guess this happens to a lot of people. I am slowly starting to consider smaller watches after having worn a 156 for years.

As for bracelet/strap, I really think that in this particular case, the watch looks much, much better and more elegant on a strap.

How about a NATO strap from Timefactors? I tried one of those on the 156, and it sure rocks. Quite a "tactical" combination.

HA! Wow, maybe I should be keeping my old watches then. No, seriously I can't go back. Maybe I'm the only one on the forum who just doesn't do the NATO straps? They don't like right to me.

I like to put Nato on every watches that I have; 156 does look good on Nato. However, the strap does add more height to the already thick case and make it awkwardly attached to your arm... So I prefer it on two pieces bands. The only nato I allow on this 156 is this Bond nato which is very soft and thin. (alll nato straps from difference sources are difference in quality.) That's just me (7 3/4" wrist).

I don't have any brilliant advice on where to get one, but I would say if you want the bracelet, get the bracelet.

I took the bracelet off my 156 when I first got it a few years ago and went through the strap drill. The good part is a 156 will adapt to probably more straps than any other watch I've seen - I had mine on a Bund, NATO, and, ultimately, a Tutima OEM strap from an FX that I have another strap on.

But I went back to the bracelet pretty quickly and it has been there ever since. Great construction (only thing that would improve it would be solid end links), very comfortable, and looks great - first picture is mine, I forget where the other two are from.

The other really good part is that you have the Sinn.
