from the pix, the screw in crown looks larger
does this means that the screw in crown thread portion is also larger as well?
meaning that the thread portion of the screw down crown is more tougher then the smaller crown?

I want one of them very badly... otherwise I'll place order for tegimented U2...
I want one as well but have yet to see a price in US dollars.
I really wish Sinn would stop pandering to fads with stupid fashion watches like this, it's unbecoming of them. They're at least five years late to the now-played-out big-watch thing anyway. There are plenty of meaningless companies making clown watches already.

I think you are a bit too harsh with your critizism...we are talking about a very LE of just 200 pieces. And 47mm are not that outrageous...I don't see the "stupid fashion watch" in the U212. I actually think it's good if Sinn steps a bit off the trodden path, and I think that watch would sell quite well, if it would be available to the public...
Doxa | Tudor | Fortis | UTS | Sinn | Benarus
I'll concede that my tone is harsh, but my criticism is meant constructively. Sinn's success has been based on their original designs, functionality, quality, excellent service and value for money. They were, until recently, the anti-fashion, function-first company. It's easy to follow fashion trends, but Sinn has a true sense of style and they're starting to dilute that with recent derivative and trendy designs.
Aside from a 25.6 mm movement being ridiculous in a 47 mm case, I really didn't think they would make watches that were big simply for the sake of being big. There is absolutely no added function for the increase in size. It's quite un-German of them.

hydrocarbon,
The way you phrased it was a bit harsh (although very humourous), however it is a fair point you make.
Making the case larger for the sake of it being larger is following a fashion trend. I agree with you there.

George
hopefully with the larger case, the crown and thread is also larger so we woulnt strip the threads when we screw in the crown
spangky,
You mentioned this before. I haven't read about stripped crown threads on a U1,
and I don't recall that you reported a problem with yours. I think you may be in
a good place to check out crown tube on the 47mm case. The large case was
first introduced on a limited edition watch, called the "Ultimate U", commissioned
by the The Hour Glass. Do I recall correctly you are but one MRT from the THG?
You could call them to see if they have an Ultimate U for your inspection. If so
you could compare it to the standard U1. If you are happy with the result you
can tell them you are interested in the U212 should they get some for sale. Let
us know what you find.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
