Ocean Diver Chrono on bead blasted mesh (pics!)

The OD chrono is one of my favorite watch designs period, but I just never was all that crazy about rubber straps. Immediately slapped on the Benarus 4mm thick, bead blasted mesh and I think it took the watch to a whole new place. Just perfect.

PS: Carlos, you should look into this if at all possible. I would've paid $100 premium for it from the factory no question.

Oooooooooooooooh. That looks good. I'm no great fan of the OD (sorry guys) but that looks sweet as hell.

You know, I think I will later tonight. I wished there was one before I pulled the trigger. (preview: It's going to be a good review!)

I like the look. Where can I get the Benarus 4mm bead blasted mesh band? I looked at their website and only saw watches, no bands. Thanks!
    Regards,

Go to the Custom Shop link. The blasted one is the one that matches the ODs.

You are right! That mesh bracelet makes the watch. Like you, I don't like rubber straps and only like leather ones in cold weather. Your bracelet should be a factory option for sure. Cheers, Bill P.

Thanks for the info on where to go on the Benarus site for the bead blasted mesh band. I finally pulled the trigger. Now I just need to figure our how to take off the old strap. I have always taken my watch to a local watch guy, but he charges so little money for changing straps (free), I feel guilty doing it. So I would rather learn how to do it myself.

Midshipman, thanks for the pictures. I liked how it looked on yours, so I installed the bead-blasted mesh on my Prometheus Chrono. I think it looks nice. Gives it an even more retro look.

I am really liking the look of the mesh strap as well and might get one for my OD. How do you re-size mesh straps? I have a fairly small wrist. Thanks.

The mesh bracelet has solid end links on both sides of the clasp that can be removed to size the bracelet.

It's on Benarus' website under the "custom shop" heading.

Hello, I was lucky enough to buy a day & date model yesterday off the for sale forum. I was looking at another thread showing lots of pics of straps people use on there ocean divers. Truth be told I think the O.D. looks great on a lot of different ones. But the mesh is by far my favorite. Since from what i have read it's tricky to make a change without damaging the watch I want to find something I will put on and forget. This is it! Thanks Midshipman, great photos of a great watch.

Have had my OD day/date on beadblast Benarus mesh since the day I got it and I believe the two were made for each other. Adds a nice weight to it. As someone previously mentioned, gives it a retro, Jaques Cousteau vibe.
