I like the carrera GP edition! I have always been a fan of the Chopard Mille Miglia range - with their rubber tyre pattern strap and clear case back with floating text/graphics. IMO the carrera LE was well executed showing more restraints than the day-date, while still managed to be a nice sports watch.

After reading this article, I am wondering about whatever happen to the 'micrograph monaco'. It aprears to have been purchased by a lucky collector and is never heard of again, I guess that's how it goes for the ' one and only' style time pieces.

The LE Carrera Day-Date looks kind of fake.

Re: “Monaco Grand Prix” Edition Monaco & Carrera

As I am becoming a bit of a Monaco (Tag Heuer) obsessive I have been looking at the new Monacos of and on for the last couple of days.

To my eyes the Blue McQueen version of the Cal 36 Twenty Four is the best looking of the 3 versions so far. Also think the slight change to the McQueen Calibre 11 special is an improvement, but can't help thinking it would look better without the thin 3rd white stripe as they make it look too busy and conflict with the hour markers.

The Monaco Grand Prix edition should appeal to me as I am a sucker for all the folklore surrounding Monte Carlo and the Grand Prix, but it it just doesn't seem to gel for me. I think it it because the strap and the head don't work well together - I think it would look much better on the traditional black perforated leather strap from used on the 40th Anniversary model. I do however really like this version of the croc strap and am seriously thinking about getting one for my Grey Gulf.
