    Another 'Is my TH real' thread...

    All:

    I bought this watch used from a guy who replaced it with a Rolex. I have no reason to doubt his honesty, but I want to be 100% sure. He bought it in Saudi Arabia. If I stop wearing it for more than 18 hours, it stops. Is that normal?

    Does it look like a real TH?

    Thanks in advance,

    Paul.

    A fully wound watch should have a power reserve greater than 18 hours - but it also may be a sign that a servicing might be in order. But, otherwise, it looks okay to me.

    Thanks! I suppose the best way to authenticate is to have two side by side & compare...

    Looks fake to me for several reasons main ones being that the TAG Heuer logo should be a white skeleton ink stamp not applied logo and the font does not feel right also crown is missing black inlay and pushers look wrong size.

    Sorry

    The plot thickens! FWIW, this watch was purchased in Saudi Arabia- not sure if that makes any difference. I see that the black inlay is missing- any way it could have fallen out? Has anyone seen one with a colored logo on one of these?

    Update: I'm going to send it to TH for servicing. That will confirm if it's real. FWIW, my watch is IDENTICAL to this one;

    All:

    "Your watch is 100% authentic". -Tag Heuer representative, after I sent it in for servicing.

    I asked if they ever get 'replicas'. "Oh yes, we get quite a few of those...".

    Summary: If in doubt, send it to TH for a service. They don't service fakes.

    Thanks,

    Paul.

    They will probably fix the crown inlay issue. Glad it turned out real.
