Question Carrera Calibre 1887 Heritage Chronograph

Are there any rumors as to when such a model might become available in the future? I like the feel of the 1887 movement, particularly the chronograph pushers' operating feel, more than the Calibre 16. But I love the Heritage dial, more stylish Arabic numerals and blued hands on the heritage models.

If Tag might add the 1887 movement to the Heritage chronograph within the next 6 months I will wait to purchase. But if there is no way that's going to happen I'm going to pull the trigger on either a Heritage Calibre 16 chronograph or Calibre 6 watch really soon.

If you like the 1887 but love the heritage dial, you are in luck. TH is making a new 43mm 1887 with the arabic numerals. The only change besides the size is the numbers and hands are in gold, so it gives it more of a two-tone look. They look nice as you can see:

But you also have to like rose gold as that's the only choice of gold.

Our friends over at Caliber 11 wrote a nice article about it, and you can read it here: TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 43mm- Review | TAG Heuer Watch Reviews

    Hope this helps!

I'd just like to chime in and point out that those watches are incredibly sexy. That is all.

PS: As much as I'd like one of those, 43mm is a bit too large for my puny wrists. I'm more comfortable in the 39-41mm range.

I agree with the looks "Apothecurious" but not with the size. Wearing a nice watch like that no matter the size gives a nice presense.

Anyway, I wanted to add one more picture, courtesy again of our friends at Caliber11. Look how nice the top left black dial is with those gold numbers. And who can resist the bottom right one in a nice, fresh anthracite dial with gold and matching strap, not just the easy way out and throwing a black strap on there. This just might be my next watch. I was able to see one on our reps wrist and played with it. Just as nice in person.

Re: Carrera Calibre 1887 Heritage Chronograph

    Thanks all

I am well aware of the Carrera Calibre 1887 43 mm chronographs. I've tried them on in person and played with the movement. But, frankly, I think they look like IWC Portuguese Chronograph copies. I prefer the numeral fonts and flinque dial on the Heritage line. But I do really like the 1887 movement. I guess I will compromise on the calibre 16 in order to get the Heritage style, which I really like. And I'll save myself over a grand in the process. So it's a win win, in my opinion.

    Happy watching!

It's a tough call. I'm in a similar position to you in that I like the heritage line but really want an 1887 movement.

I really can't see any circumstance where Tag Heuer would combine the two until they can no longer buy the 7750 movement (calibre 16). There really is no benefit for them to do so; they've currently got a large number of carrera variants in that price range.
