First Tag. Could call me a converted doubter

While I have always liked the looks of a few select Tags I have bought into the WUS criticism here over the years (overpriced, over hyped, etc....). Nevertheless I recently went through a drastic consolidation to get a Seiko MM300 and needed a less expensive thinner dress diver to compliment it. Aquaracer WAN2111 showed up on the sales forum for less than half off the grey market price so I thought I would give it a shot. I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised. These look much better in person than photographs. Perfect compliment to the Seiko. Ironically most will think the Seiko is the cheaper watch.

I am also aware of the crown issues so I am being very careful and I waxed the crown threads with floss before setting

Shoulda got a Seamaster; it's only twice the price.

Actually, I keep looking at these too.
I'm feeling that I want a cheaper watch to serve as a true beater and I like the dive watch aesthetic. Except right now, I really like the look of the October release 41mm Aquaracer with the ceramic bezel. The bezel on the WAN has always seemed a little too thick to me and the ceramic bezel has fixed that.

Thing is, I actually already have a beater in the form of a Precista PRS-14 and the WAK2110 is going to be marketed at around £1750 and that isn't beater watch money for me.
I'm hoping it doesn't turn out to be too shiney.

WIS Handbook, Chapter 1, Rules 1 and 2:
    1. Tag Heuer never wins a poll. Should a member feel the need to express the desire to own one, he or she may be subject to ridicule and be ostracized.
    2. Omega wins all polls. Should Omega not be mentioned as a selectable option, it is highly suggested that you still recommend the polling member purchase an Omega, preferably a Speedmaster with hesalite crystal to add extra character and a certain warmess to the dial.

Thought for the day: if watches and brands were people, how many of you would be racists?

Great watch! I have the earlier version (WAB2010) of this watch and love it!

Congrats, nice pickup. That's my favorite Aquaracer model.

Glad you got past the lemming-like TAG dislike on WUS. Fortunately you and the rest of the world realize these are very nice watches.

    Tim

I have had the same model for almost a year now and love it. I don't always keep it on a winder so I have wound it and set it multiple times without any problem with the crown. I think if you use common sense when setting it you will not have any problems with the crown either. I think the problems were mostly limited to the 500m version.

    Haha well said =)

That Bond scene leaps into my head every time someone knocks TAG as overhyped due to marketing.

    "No. Omeeeega." lol
