    Help purchasing my first TAG

    Hello,

I am looking to purchase a Tag Carrera Heritage and would ask for your help. Do you guys know any AD willing to offer a 25-30% discount on the Carrera Heritage?

I talked to the local REEDS guy and since this is a new watch he can only do 10%...

I also checked Authentic Watches and they have the watch for 30% off retail.

Thanks for your help, any advice is appreciated!

I just got my first Tag recently. I looked online and as well as called a number of local ADs. I stayed away from Authentic Watches, Joma, and Amazon because I was willing to pay the premium for the International Guarantee which they dont offer. I picked up my Link Chrono Cal16 and got a really good deal.

Tag ...... stores typically have the watches discounted 20-25% off retail. STAY AWAY from large jewelers like Reeds, Ben Bridge, etc...these guys are capped on how much they can discount the watches by. Just go there to try the watch on, then move on to an independent AD.

You just have to know how much you're willing to spend but you have to be realistic. Set your cap and be willing to walk away because there are a ton of ADs out there who want your business.

Agree -- but I think that 20% - 25% discount at an AD (small, large or independent) may be a tough sell. I'm not saying it is not possible (and if you don't ask will never know), it is just that the trend of late has been for manufacturers to put tighter control around how much, if any, discount an AD is permitted to offer.

Good luck. Like you said, you won't know if you don't ask. I spent a good 2 weeks calling around and finally got what I wanted and the price I wanted. Shop around, dont be in a huge rush. Either way, pay what you want to pay and once you get it, enjoy the watch and don't look back.

Thanks a lot for all the advice guys. I ended up getting the Carrera Heritage from an AD in CA, placing the order over the phone, no tax with a warranty card.

Since this is a new watch, REEDS were only willing to do 10% discount. I was referred to an AD in PA that offered 25% discount and I was just about to purchase, when I found a different AD in CA that offered 30% off. I haggled for 35% off from the AD in CA, great service and overnight shipping was included in the price. I am extremely happy I didn’t go with Amazon or similar dealer.

    Thanks again, take care.
