    Link Calibre 6 Running Slow

    Hi,
I received a Link Calibre 6 watch as a gift and it ran slow from day one. Sent it back to the reseller as there was no Tag Heuer warrantee card. The reseller sent it out for calibration and returned it to me. The watch is losing about 4 min per week. The watch looks right and has appropriate serial # ect. Any thoughts? This does not seem acceptable for a watch of this price. Is the calibration procedure for this type of watch that unreliable? Do I have a lemon or a fake?
    Thank you,
    Norwest

Since you don't have a factory warranty, find a good watchmaker and have it regulated.

4 minutes a week? Wow that is horrible. I just set the time a week ago on my Calibre 16 once I arrived in China from the US and it's only running 4 seconds fast so far. Definitely get it calibrated by a good watch smith.

Your watch maybe beyond the typical adjustment range of the hairspring adjustment. If you look at the example below there are two adjustments to most hairsprings. Number 1 is the fine adjustment that will give you approximately +/- 5 seconds per 24 hrs per mark.

Number 2 is the hairspring stud coarse adjustment. If it is set incorrectly, number one will be useless because the coarse stud setting determines the usable range of number 1. Adjusting 2 is so delicate that when it is adjusted you can barely see the stud postion move. This should be done by an expert watch maker.

Unless it is a misadjustment like this, it probably needs service as others have suggested.
