Re: Mr. Jack Heuer answers questions from members of our TAG Heuer forum

    Thank you, Ernie.

I see the brand often going back to the HEUER only name on some homage models. Is TAGHeuer fading this out and sticking to the former name brand only, or will they continue to use the vintage Heuer brand on selected models eventually? Is there any thought on dropping the TAG name altogether? Although I not only understand the difference between the two names, and I do enjoy the use of both, does the company find it could be confusing as a brand strategy at all?

    Thanks again,

    Enrico

    Here is one for Jack:

Were various assemblers used for the various lines of watches? i.e. did the three handed dress watches go to different houses than the chronos? How much assembly was done in-house?

What was your best design decision? Your best business decision? Your worst? (I know, sometimes it is hard to admit but, with the passage of time, comes perspective )

    Hi Ernie and Jack,

The 80th Birthday Carrera is one the best looking watches I have ever seen! I really hope to own one some day. Is their any indication if the Monaco will get rounded pushers in the future? For the life of me I can't figure out why the Autavia reissue was not a hot seller. Do you have any thoughts on why and if another Autavia reissue would be considered in the future?

    Thank you!

Question for Mr. Heuer: What was the first diver's watch that Heuer produced? When was it produced, and do you have any archive photos, or vintage catalog images of said watch? Thanks.

    Have a nice day.

question to Mr.Heuer ( if i am not too late )

i second the question about why the autravia was discontinued, and i would like to ask why aquagraph was discontinued too. both models are fantastic to most tag heuer fans.

Re: Mr. Jack Heuer answers questions from members of our TAG Heuer forum

    Hi,

I am trying to do some research about G. Monnin. Apparently, they were a French company that made the very first divers watches (and some chronograph models) for Heuer. They also manufactured watches for other companies too. There is almost no information about G. Monnin on the internet and even speculation to what the 'G' stood for. Some people have commented that it stands for 'Georges' but I cannot find any conclusive evidence to support this.

Here is an example of my G. Monnin manufactured Heuer. Notice it says "Made in France" on the dial and "Professionel" is the French spelling.

And here is another watch I used to own, a Bessa Prestige. It was also manufactured by G. Monnin & stamped with the same '844' reference number as its Heuer cousin.

Was G. Monnin a watch manufacturer in their own right or were they an engineering company that provided tooling to manufacture watch cases etc? Is G. Monnin the same company that produced this Georges Monnin pocket watch?

If Jack or anybody at Tag Heuer can answer these questions, it will be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,
    Warren Snook

Re: Mr. Jack Heuer answers questions from members of our TAG Heuer forum

The main thing that has prevented me from buying TAG Heuer watches is that the company does not stock parts for even recently discontinued models. This may cause issues years down the road if a needed part becomes very difficult to track down. Is there a realistic possibility that that company policy may change?
