    Pulling the Crown While Storing

In order to conserver battery life, does anyone else pull the crown on their quartz Tags while they are not being worn? Any disadvantages to doing this? Will this cause any issues later down the line?

Re: Pulling to Crown While Storing

I know many stores do this to save batteries while on display. As long as the crown seal on the tube is good and will prevent moisture from entering the watch, it should be OK for long term storage. I am a believer in keep a watch as sealed up as possible. If you are only doing this for a few days at a time it is just creating extra wear on your crown for very little gain. Batteries are cheaper than crowns.

I would leave it in and let it run. The advantage of quarts to mech is that its you don't have to set the time when you pick it up and put it on. If you pull the crown when not wearing it you might as well own an auto.

Also, buy a case opener and you can change your own batteries. Its fun to do and I've done it for $1-2 a battery from ebay. (Case opener was $10).
