Question about Carrera Calibre 5 Black Dial

    Hi,
I was hoping someone would be able to comment on whether the Carrera Calibre 5 with arabic numerals is essentially the same watch as the model with roman numerals. After shopping around and trying on several watches, I've decided on the simple Carrera Caibre 5 black dial (which I think is the Inception/DiCaprio watch). I've seen ads for pre-owned Calibre 5's with Arabic numerals, and I was wondering if it is essentially the same watch...bold black dial and "clean" look? I've never seen one with Arabic numerals in person and the pics in the listings are not great. Ay help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes same watch. Earlier models have the ETA 2824,later models have the Selitta SW200 - basically the same.

Not sure there is a Carrera with Roman numerals.....

Yep. So much the same that when I purchased the version without numbers from Torneau Shop at home, they sent me the version with the numbers by mistake.

Re: Question about Carrera Calibre 5 Black Dial

Sorry to revive an old thread, but:

I've been looking at a pre-owned Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 5 (WV211B) originally purchased in 2007. I remember there were some minor differences between the older models and the current model, but can't recall what they were specifically. Can anyone with more expertise tell me the differences?

The most significant change is the older Cal 5 was an ETA 2824 while the ones in the past 3-4 years(?) have the Sellita SW200. Also, the water resistance has been improved from 50m to 100m.

TAG came out with a Cal 5 with a tachymeter scale on the bezel just a couple years ago. The bezels are brown or black matching the claus de paris dial color.

Other than that, nothing has changed.
