Tag Forum Question re Tag, Eterna, Porshe Design Relationship if any?

I have the book "1001 Watches" which shows some striking similarities between Tag, Eterna and Porsche Design watches of the 1990's especially -- you can really see that some dials, bezels, cases, and integrated bracelets appear very similar. Anybody know if they used some of the same designers, suppliers or parts bins?
Thanks in advance for your replies!

"Know"? Well, no. But the similarities I see drive me to the same conclusion. Remember, the Swiss watch industry consists to lots of suppliers who sell sub assemblies/cases/movements/bracelets/etc to almost anybody. So sharing some components seems likely. Plus, certain designs seem to be used by a number of makers even if the parts suppliers may be different.

You see this throughout the history of the industry, not just in the '90s.

"The watch has to be surrounded by a history. You need more than just a great design. You need to create an atmosphere around the product.
Who is the company behind it? Why are they using this material?
People need to be able to identify the watch with themselves. It's based on emotion." - Ralph Furter
